Photographic contest on the environment
The international photographic contes Eyes on the Planet (March 1st - November 25th 2008) is born from the desire of Manfrotto, global leader in the creation, production and distribution of tripods and accessories for photography and video, to increment the notoriety of the brand and to enlarge its market especially towards the young non professional photographers around the world. Having been involved for years in CSR activities, in particular in the protection and well-being of the environment, Manfrotto wants to raise awareness among the young involving them in concrete projects.
From here the proposal: Connexia and Manfrotto are the promotors of a photographic contest which promotes environmental awareness through a universal instrument, immediate and emotional like photography and which can offer concrete opportunities of visibility and training to tomorrow photographers. Connexia created and organized the entire project: from the creation of the website, to the coordination of the contest, the recruitment and coordination of the partners, sponsors and tutorships (among which:Department for Leisure activities of the Comune of Milano, WWF, Slow Food Foundation for Biodiversities, MSN & Windows Live) press office, internet PR, launch and closing events. To give concreteness to the solidariety messages of the contest, at the end of the contest, the best photographs were auctioned on eBay and the entire profit went in favour of the projects of the Slow Food Foundation for Biodiversities and WWF in Amazzonia for the salvation of the Brazilian nut tree.
Contest figures: over 600 photographs from every continent, voted by a jury of professionists, partners representatives, and a jury of web users; 100 guests at the prizegiving ceremony, 36 winning photos exhibited for one week in the beautiful cloisters of the Umanitaria in Milan, 8 scholarships for professional and amatory photography courses and 16 photographic kits, 200 articles in the press review, visible on the About Us page on the website.
