illy Caffè opens its first Milan flagship store

The official opening of illy Caffè, the company’s first Italian flagship store, was a huge success.
First Paris and London, and now Milan. Illy opened its flagship store right in the heart of the city in Piazza Gae Aulenti, in the Porta Nuova district, on 3rd March. Connexia was tasked with coordinating all aspects of this important event from its organisation through to managing media relations.

During the evening Andrea Illy, President and CEO of illycaffè, introduced the new store and the company’s work with the Lia Rumma Contemporary Art Gallery. illy and the Lia Rumma Gallery share a friendship and creative affinity which have given rise to a programme for exhibiting art in a special area of the flagship store: the gallery’s programme will rotate the works of contemporary artists who have links with the company’s artistic projects.

The new illy Caffè flagship store features a captivating concept: the contemporary artistic café offers the chance to savour the unique illy experience which blends taste and pleasure of the senses with intellectual and aesthetic pleasure. The event was packed with guests, including Lia Rumma, Inge Schoenthal Feltrinelli, Stefano Alessi, Maurizio Dallocchio, Francesco Morace, and many others.
Journalists, bloggers and opinion leaders also turned out in force to see the opening.
